Pierre Nocca was born in 1919 in Sète, in the south of France. When he was 19 he began his studies at the Ecole Nationale des Beaux Arts in Paris where he received accolades and awards for his work. While he lived in Paris he was acquainted with the inner circle of its art scene. Later in life he returned to the solace of his studio on the Mediterranean coast.
